You could train to become a qualified forklift operator and take your first step into warehouse and logistics roles.

In partnership with West Thames College Skills + Logistics Centre, JobCentre Plus, and local employers, Work Hounslow is offering a fully-funded, entry-level training programme in logistics and warehousing, for eligible residents. This is a new programme and the first of its kind in the borough.

To be eligible, you must be aged 19 and above on or after 31 August 2025 and you are not in employment, education and training. We welcome individuals with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), those who are care-experienced or are refugees*

The session can help you:
  • Learn about the training programme, including eligibility criteria and learning outcomes
  • Find out about careers in the logistics and warehousing sector, including what a typical day is like working as a forklift operator and future career prospects
  • Understand what to expect at an assessment centre session
About the training programme

Eligible residents will take part in an intensive training programme at West Thames College, running from 9am, Monday to Friday, starting Monday, 8 June.

They will work towards three qualifications:
Those who successfully complete the training will be guaranteed a job interview with local employers.

Assessment centre

Participants meeting the eligibility criteria and interested in progressing their applications will be invited to an assessment centre session, which will take place in last week of May and early June. Our colleagues will contact you via email with further details.
