Eligible young people who are currently not in employment, education or training (NEET) can join our fully funded programme:
- Study programme for ages 16-18, starting on Monday, 30 March (closing date for applications: Friday, 27 March)
- Training for ages 19-24, starting on Monday, 13 April

It's a great opportunity for young people to learn a trade and gain access to pathways into a career in construction. Those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), with care experience or those have been involved with the Youth Justice System are welcome to enrol.
About the programmes
- Study programme for ages 16-18
The programme is designed for young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET), including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), young people who have been in care or those have been involved in the Youth Justice System.
It will run for 12 to 17 weeks and will support participants to access further training and progressing towards gaining qualifications in construction. You can:
- Basic practical trade skills, such as carpentry or plumbing
- Functional skills in English and maths to support progression towards accredited qualifications, including the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card
- How construction sites operate, through workshops or site visit offering first-hand experience
The programme is designed for young people who are not in employment, education or training (NEET), including those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), young people who have been in care or those have been involved in the Youth Justice System.
It will run for six to eight weeks and will support participants in gaining qualifications for entry-level roles in construction. Activities, subject to confirmation, will include:
- Gaining first-hand experience on a construction site
- Accessing full training towards accredited qualifications, including the CSCS Green Card, Level 1 Health & Safety, First Aid and more
- One-to-one careers advice and guidance from Work Hounslow
The first cohort of the training will start on Monday, 13 April.
