The initiative marks National Careers Week, which runs from 3 to 8 March, celebrating careers and providing free educational resources for young people across the UK.

The videos will be available on the Council’s YouTube channel from Wednesday, 4 March.

The video resources will focus on:
  • Current and upcoming career opportunities, alternative pathways and training programmes, including volunteering
  • Insights and information on business sectors and industries
  • Tips and guidance on applications
These videos will feature the Council’s support and services teams, including Hounslow Connexions, Work Hounslow, DFN Project SEARCH Supported Internship programmes, alongside employers, partner organisations and colleges such as Healthy in Your Own Skin General Practice (GP), M.I.T. Skills, Ealing and Hounslow Community Voluntary Service (EHCVS), West Thames College and many others.

They will remain accessible for young people, parents, carers and professionals, with regular updates on new and existing local opportunities.

Young people in the borough who are not in education, employment and training (NEET), as well as those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and experience of care can watch the videos anywhere, at any time. Parents, carers and organisations are encouraged to share the resources with the young people they support or watch them together.

All videos produced by Council teams and partners will be available on Hounslow Council’s YouTube channel on Wednesday, 4 March. You can access the videos here.
